This weekend’s UFC 327 card in Miami is one of those cards where the main event is big enough on its own, but the deeper you look, the more interesting it gets.
At the top, you’ve got Jiri Procházka vs Carlos Ulberg for the light heavyweight title. That’s already a serious fight. But then you add in guys like Paulo Costa, Dominick Reyes, Curtis Blaydes, and a bunch of rising names on the prelims, and suddenly this card feels way more important.
MAIN EVENT
Jiri Procházka vs Carlos Ulberg
(Light Heavyweight Title)
Jiri is one of the most unique fighters in the UFC. If you’ve watched him before, you know what I mean. He doesn’t follow normal patterns. He throws from weird angles, keeps his hands low, and somehow still lands big shots. He’s already been a champion, and he’s beaten high-level guys like Glover Teixeira in one of the craziest title fights ever.
Even when he loses, it’s never boring. His fight with Alex Pereira showed that he’s willing to stand and trade with anyone, even if it gets dangerous.
Ulberg is way more technical.
He’s part of that City Kickboxing group, and you can see it in how he fights. He’s clean, patient, and very controlled. He’s been building momentum with multiple wins in a row, and he’s looked better each time out. He doesn’t rush, and he doesn’t make a lot of mistakes.
So this fight really comes down to control.
If Ulberg can keep distance and stay composed, he can win rounds. But if Jiri drags him into something chaotic, that’s where things get unpredictable fast.
Pick: Jiri by KO, round 3
I just think at some point, Jiri forces a wild exchange and lands something big.
CO-MAIN EVENT
Paulo Costa vs Azamat Murzakanov
(Light Heavyweight)
Costa moving up to 205 is a big storyline here.
At middleweight, he was known for pressure and power, especially in fights like his war with Yoel Romero, where he showed how dangerous he can be in a brawl. But he’s also had some inconsistency lately.
Murzakanov is undefeated and a real problem.
He’s not flashy, but he’s efficient and powerful. He’s finished multiple opponents and doesn’t waste opportunities when he hurts someone. He’s also been more active and consistent than Costa.
If Costa makes this a wild fight, he has a chance. But if Murzakanov stays composed, he’s dangerous the whole time.
Pick: Murzakanov by KO
MAIN CARD
Curtis Blaydes vs Josh Hokit
(Heavyweight)
Blaydes is one of the best wrestlers in the heavyweight division. When he sticks to that game plan, he wins fights.
We’ve seen him dominate guys with takedowns and control, even against strong competition. The only time he really struggles is when he gets caught standing.
Hokit is still building his name at this level.
If he can keep it standing, he has a shot. But if Blaydes wrestles, this could turn into a long fight.
Pick: Blaydes by decision
Dominick Reyes vs Johnny Walker
(Light Heavyweight)
This fight is unpredictable in the best way.
Reyes was once very close to becoming champion. His fight with Jon Jones is still debated, and it showed how high his ceiling is. But since then, he’s had some tough losses.
Walker is the opposite type of fighter. He’s explosive, risky, and always capable of ending a fight quickly. He’s not always consistent, but he’s dangerous every second.
This feels like a fight where someone gets caught early.
Pick: Walker by KO, round 1
Cub Swanson vs Nate Landwehr
(Featherweight)
This one feels like a veteran vs pressure fighter matchup.
Swanson has been around for a long time and has wins over big names. He’s technical, experienced, and knows how to manage fights.
Landwehr brings energy and aggression. He pushes the pace and tries to turn fights into brawls.
If Swanson keeps this technical, he should win. If it turns into chaos, it gets closer.
Pick: Swanson by decision
PRELIMS
Patricio Pitbull vs Aaron Pico
(Featherweight)
This is one of the best fights outside the main card.
Pitbull has been one of the best fighters outside the UFC for years. He’s experienced and dangerous.
Pico is one of the most hyped prospects, and he’s finally starting to put everything together.
Pick: Pico by TKO
Kevin Holland vs Randy Brown
(Welterweight)
Both guys are long and creative strikers.
Holland is unpredictable and talks his way through fights, but he’s also very dangerous. Brown is more technical and controlled.
Pick: Holland by decision
Mateusz Gamrot vs Esteban Ribovics
(Lightweight)
Gamrot’s wrestling and pace are always a problem.
If he gets control, he usually wins.
Pick: Gamrot by decision
Tatiana Suarez vs Loopy Godinez
(Women’s Strawweight)
Suarez is one of the best grapplers in the division.
If she gets this fight to the ground, it changes quickly.
Pick: Suarez by submission
EARLY PRELIMS
Padilla vs Mediah (155 lbs)
This feels like a classic early prelim fight where both guys are trying to make a name.
Pick: Padilla by decision
Kelvin Gastelum vs Joe Pyfer
(Middleweight)
Gastelum has been in big fights for years, but Pyfer is younger and has momentum.
Pick: Pyfer by KO
Nicolas Dalby vs Radtke
(Welterweight)
Dalby is experienced, but Radtke has been building momentum.
Pick: Radtke by decision
FINAL THOUGHTS
This card is deeper than it looks.
The main event decides a title. The co-main has real implications. And the rest of the card is full of guys trying to move up or stay relevant.
Those are usually the cards that deliver.
And with Jiri in the main event, you can almost guarantee one thing.
At some point, something unexpected is going to happen.
