Judy is a kind and passionate person who enjoys sewing and repairing items for her family and friends. Her passion for sewing started when she was around 6 years old, when she wanted to learn how to make clothes for her dolls. Her sister ended up teaching her how to sew, and she later took 2 years of sewing classes in high school. During her high school career, she got a job working in an alteration department of a department store, which led to her working in multiple additional departments for multiple stores. She continued with her hobby while raising a family. Her curiosity about treadle sewing machines led her to restore vintage sewing machines, known as “Iron Ladies,” with her husband. Her collection now includes several treadles dating back as far as 1903. Thanks to her, I have learned so much about the history of sewing machines from the 1900s to the 2000s.
