Teacher: Ms. Schorr
With online school, it may feel like you’re only sitting down all day long. Thankfully one of Ms. Schorr’s fitness classes can get you up and moving! If you’re looking for a class where you can spend time off the couch and exercising–and one where you can learn about the benefits of exercising–then JVA’s Physical Education class is for you! Thanks to Ms. Schorr for her time.
Share a little about yourself.
I am Mrs. Schorr, I have taught at JVA for 10 years and it has been amazing. I love to do everything outdoors, including hiking, biking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, and stand-up paddleboarding. My 14-year-old dog Huxley likes to go on adventures with me. My passion is teaching students how to have fun doing exercise!
What does the class cover throughout the semester and what will students learn in the class?
In this class, students learn how to keep an activity log, the benefits of exercise, basic nutrition, stress management, and the various activities that are available to us in Colorado. They document their chosen activities throughout the class and present them to their classmates at the end!
What’s your favorite part of the class?
My favorite part of the class is seeing students’ activities and learning about their interests.
What do you want others to know about the class?
I think all PE classes are fun and expose students to things they might not know and would love for every student at JVA to take at least one!
