UFC Kansas City: Full Card Predictions
Hey fight fans! With UFC Kansas City just around the corner, it’s time to dive into the matchups and see who might come out on top. Here’s my take on each fight, blending some research with my own insights.
Main Card
Ian Machado Garry vs. Carlos Prates (Welterweight – Main Event)
Garry’s precision striking and undefeated record make him a real threat. Prates brings serious power and aggression, but I think Garry’s patience and technique will carry him to a decision win. He’ll need to stay sharp though—Prates can end things quick if you give him space.
Anthony Smith vs. Zhang Mingyang (Light Heavyweight – Co-Main Event)
Smith has seen everything the UFC has to offer, and he’s tough as nails. But Zhang’s explosive style and raw power could be trouble. If Smith can’t slow things down or take it to the mat, I see Zhang pulling off a TKO late in the fight.
Giga Chikadze vs. David Onama (Featherweight)
This one could be sneaky good. Chikadze is a kickboxing sniper, and if he finds his rhythm early, he’ll be tough to beat. Onama’s athletic and unpredictable, but I’m leaning toward Giga by unanimous decision—his striking is just too clean.
Michel Pereira vs. Abus Magomedov (Middleweight)
Pereira is flashy, unpredictable, and kind of wild—in the best way. But Magomedov fights with discipline and composure. If Pereira gasses out or overcommits, Abus can capitalize. I’m thinking Magomedov by decision, but it’ll be close.
Randy Brown vs. Nicolas Dalby (Welterweight)
This one’s a tough matchup. Brown’s long reach and striking advantage could keep Dalby at bay. Dalby is gritty and always shows up, but I think Brown wins by decision if he sticks to his game plan.
Ikram Aliskerov vs. Andre Muniz (Middleweight)
Aliskerov is dangerous everywhere, but especially on the feet. Muniz is slick with submissions, especially armbars, but if he can’t drag Ikram down early, it could be a rough night. I’m picking Aliskerov by second-round TKO.
Preliminary Card
Matt Schnell vs. Jimmy Flick (Flyweight)
Schnell likes to throw hands, and Flick loves a scramble. This might come down to who gets their game going first. I think Schnell keeps it upright and earns a decision win.
Chris Gutierrez vs. John Castaneda (Featherweight)
Gutierrez is known for those brutal leg kicks, and if he gets them going, he can slow anyone down. Castaneda is scrappy, but I think Gutierrez takes this by decision—his movement and distance control are next level.
Da’Mon Blackshear vs. Alatengheili (Bantamweight)
This could be one of the best fights on the prelims. Blackshear’s funky style and constant movement could give Alatengheili problems. I’ll go with Blackshear by second-round submission—he’s dangerous when he starts flowing.
Malcolm Wellmaker vs. Cameron Saaiman (Bantamweight)
Wellmaker has power, no doubt. But Saaiman’s technique and cardio are solid, and I think that’ll be the difference here. Saaiman by decision in a hard-fought scrap.
Jaqueline Amorim vs. Polyana Viana (Strawweight)
If this goes to the ground, it’s probably over. Amorim’s BJJ is legit. Viana is no slouch on the mat either, but I think Amorim snatches a submission in the first round.
Timothy Cuamba vs. Roberto Romero (Featherweight)
Could be a coin flip. Both guys are green but hungry. Cuamba has a bit more polish on the feet, so I’ll lean his way by split decision.
Chelsea Chandler vs. Joselyne Edwards (Bantamweight)
Edwards can rack up points with her volume and reach. Chandler needs to close distance and get gritty, but I’m leaning toward Edwards by decision if she keeps it at range.
That’s my full card breakdown for UFC Kansas City. Should be a wild night of fights—don’t blink! Let me know who you’re picking.
